When it comes to mastering any language, it is important to find opportunities to use them in your everyday life. When I think back to my University Spanish class, the students who had the easiest time were those who were already watching TV in Spanish. Amongst my Japanese speaking friends, the strongest reads Japanese novels as a hobby. These everyday bits of entertainment not only give you an opportunity to use the language but provide a motivation to learn in the first place.
Try to find something that appeals to you. If you like watching dramas, why not try watching one in English? If you're into music, add a couple English songs to your playlist. And, once you feel you are ready, try reading books in English. It may go slowly at first, but the reward will surely be worth the effort.

When you eat a delicious dessert, what goes through your mind? Do you think, "Wow, this was tasty," and go about your day? Do you pause and wonder "How did they make this so good? What ingredients did they put in here?" How about after you watch a movie? What do you think about?
The IB course at KIS stands for the International Baccalaureate, but people forget that IB also stands for Inquiry-Based. In order to reap the benefits of the International Baccalaureate, one must be ready to inquire about everything they experience. With such a mindset, students who graduate with an IB diploma join a select group of individuals who have shown themselves capable of thinking and analyzing critically and independently. While I encourage everyone to learn just for learning's sake, seeing the names of IB Alumni might get your attention.
Ke$ha (singer), Joji (singer), Dustin Moskovitz (facebook co-founder), King Willem-Alexander (Netherlands), Akihiko Hoshide (Astronaut), Carey Mulligan (Actress), to name a few.
So, next time you eat a delicious dessert or watch a movie, ask some questions. Don't accept it at face value. Ask yourself two simple questions, "why?" and "how?".
